Students’ regular visit to the industries is an important pedagogical practice at BlueCrest College. These visits are aimed to inculcate insights to put theoretical knowledge in to practice. This exercise exposes students to actual working conditions, industrial practices and also acquaints them with interesting facts and breath-taking technologies.
Keeping that principle at the center stage BlueCrest organized an Industrial Visit for its 45 students from Department of Industrial Arts to GTP Ghana Limited, Tema on 26th March, 2015. GTP is West Africa’s leading African Wax Print & Textiles manufacturer
During the visit students learnt the process of Textile Production. The visit covered the area such as production process, productivity management, packaging, quality control, designing and various other practices adopted by the company which makes them foremost textile company in Ghana and a leader in the wax prints market.
Students understood the importance of the cross functional communication, team work and commitment and also how to continuously deliver values at each stage of production. With an aim to go beyond academics, these visits are arranged to develop the insights of the students – attaining practical knowledge and their theoretical applications thereof.
Teams GTP gave us a very warm welcome and were equally excited to impart the thorough knowledge to our students. Students were accompanied by the staff from School of Fashion & Design.
